Denise McKnight, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 6 years of experience, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families navigating life's challenges. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a deep commitment to helping my clients achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being.

I specialize in grief counseling, trauma-informed care, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ issues, and have extensive experience working with diverse populations, including those dealing with chronic illness, end-of-life issues, and the complexities of caregiving. Additionally, I have a strong background in working with victims of domestic violence and on the behavioral health unit with mentally ill patients. My work as a domestic violence advocate has allowed me to support individuals through their most vulnerable moments, while my experience on the behavioral health unit has equipped me to address complex mental health needs.

My background in Hospice and Palliative Care has provided me with a unique perspective on the importance of holistic, patient-centered care.

In my practice, I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of each client, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and foster resilience.

I am passionate about empowering my clients to take an active role in their healing journey, and I work collaboratively with them to identify strengths, build self-awareness, and create meaningful change. Whether you're facing a specific issue or looking to enhance your overall mental health, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I am committed to continuous learning and professional development. I regularly participate in training and workshops to stay current with the latest advancements in mental health care.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you navigate your path to wellness.
